Lexus LF-A

Toyota approved the Lexus LF-A for production following a successful prototype debut at the 2005 North American International Auto Show. This exotic halo car is expected to compete with Lamborghini, Ferrari and Porsche for its market share and will be available in both a V-10 and hybrid version. Its production versions are expected to offer incredible performance. Peak capabilities should exceed 500 horsepower and 200 miles per hour.

The Lexus LF-A and the entire family of LF vehicles

The first vehicle in the LF series, the LF-X, made its market debut in 2003. Lexus intends for the LF-A and all other models in the LF series, including the LF-C, LF-S and LF-X, to combine styling elegance and design simplicity with advanced technology and top-of-the-line performance. The LF-C is designed with a unique retractable hard top, which facilitates a range of body stylistic variations, including a coupe, convertible and speedster.

With the LF-A, Lexus is positioning itself for the future. Many industry insiders speculate that the stylistic concept that drives the car’s aggressive exterior and luxurious interior will form the backbone of the company’s future products, including its line of entry- and mid-level sedans and coupes. “LF” is known to stand for “L-Finesse,” marking a complete conceptual overhaul intended to help the company compete with the world highest-end performance and luxury production vehicles.
